Design background

간장은 한국음식문화에서 전통적으로 오랫동안 그 자리를 유지한 재료이다.

샘표는 그 간장을 전문으로 만드는 회사이다. 이 작품의 시작은 지금은 더 이상 사용하지 않는 초기 공장재조방식의 기계들은 재구성하여 그 기억의 흔적을 담아보려 하였다.

흔적+재구성

간장을 만들던 오래되고 간장향이 가득히 배어 있는 목판들과 재로들을 가공 되던 기계들은 새로이 재구성되어 압축적형테의 테이블로 탄생하여 방문객들에게 그 흔적의 향과 기억의 조각을 전달한다.

Design background

Soya sauce is traditionally kept in place for a long time in Korean food culture.

Sampyo is a company that specializes in that soy sauce. The beginning of the work was to reconstruct the machines that were no longer in use of the early factory equipment to capture the marks of the gears.

Trace + reconstruction

Old woodblocks made of soy sauce, filled with soy sauce, and processing tools that are to be reframed, are newly reconstructed and delivered as tables of compressed-and-shaped appliances to visitors.

Deliver the old incense, traces and pieces of memory.
