Design background

역사적으로 project의 장소는 옛 경희궁터이다. 이런 역사적 사실을 간과하고 디자인을 접근하기는 어려웠다. 하지만 근대화의 역사적 비극적 상황에 의하여 지금의 자리는 

그 어느 곳에서도 옛 궁전의 흔적을 찾아보기는 어려운 상태였다. 단지 문화재 보호구역이라는 행정적 경계만이 이 곳의 옛 정체성을 말해주고 있었다. 따라서, 이 project의

형태적 정체성은 옛 궁궐의 향수에 대한 재해석에서 그 시작점을 추출했다.

병렬(竝列)의 연결

한국식 건축양식의 재해석은 수 많은 건축가들에 의하여 시도되어지고, 표현되어져왔다. 우리의 디자인 접근방식은 조선의 궁궐건설양식을 우리만의 언어로의 재해석과 

프로젝트의 장소성에 중점을 두었다. 궁궐에 있어서의 기둥은 구조적 기능만이 아니라 수평적 형태를 웅장하게 인지해주는 역할을 동시에 하고있다. 이런 형태는 고대 

그리스의 주심포(柱心包 ) 양식과 의미를 같이한다. 신문로 프로젝트에서의 외부 수직성은 기둥으로 대변되어지고 내부 공간의 극대화와 열주열로서 표현되어진 형태는

언덕과 옹벽위에서 올라선 형태로 한국건축양식이 주는 기단위에 열병하듯 나열되어진 기둥과 현대식 재료와 공법에 어울리게 디자인되었다. 그로인하여, 건축물 

그 자체의 규모보다 웅장함을 마음껏 드러낸다. 모든 면들은 현대 건축재료와 형태적 완성도 그리고 시야의 조절을 통하여 건물이 보여지는 열주열들의 조화된 미를 강조하여

병렬미학을 완성한다.

Design Concept

수직 구조체의 병렬(竝列)과 기하학(幾何學)적 연결을 통한 궁정 혹은 신전의 조화미를 현대적으로 재해석하여 장소의 정체성의 재정립과  구조체에서 계획되어진 Vista를

통하여 주변과의 관계의 재조화하는 것에 디자인 방법이 녹아져있다.  

Design background

Historically, the site of project is from Kyung Hee Palace. It was difficult to access the design without considering this historical fact. However, the historical situation of the modern palace was difficult to find anywhere in the past, and only the administrative boundary of the ancient palace was the only place in which the administrative boundary of the site was mentioned. Thus, the formal identity of this project has taken its place in the reconsideration of the old palaces of nostalgia.

Connecting parallel

Reinterpretation of Korean style of architecture has been attempted and expressed by countless architects. Our design approach focused on the reinterpretation of Joseon’s palace construction patterns into our own language and the locality of the project. The pillars in palaces serve not only as a structural but also as a magnificent recognition of horizontal patterns. This form corresponds to the main stylistic style of ancient Greece.External vertical in the Sinmunno project was represented by columns and represented by the maximises of interior space and columns of heat columns, which are listed on the air mass of modern architecture with Korean architectural styles rising above hills and retaining walls. By the way, it bestows grandeur above the scale of the building itself. Through modern architectural materials, the shapes of the parallel aesthetics are completed by emphasizing the harmonized beauty of the columns of the building, the shape of the building, and the harmonic shapes of the buildings..

Design Concept

The redesign of the court is designed to redesign the harmony of the court or temple through the geometry of the vertical structure and the geometry of the site, and redesign the relationship with the surroundings of the site through the restructuring of the site and the planned relationship with the surroundings of the structure.
